This watch is a NOS (New old stock) as the model was discontinued in 2016 but has a certificate which is dated late 2018. The watch is unworn and comes with full factory stickers. Having in mind that this watch was discontinued several years ago, coming by a watch in this condition, state, and such a late certificate is quite rare.

The Tudor Black Bay 79220 range is available in three colors: black, blue, and red. The burgundy red color is inspired by a red-colored Tudor Submariner which never made it into production. The Black Bay range is inspired by the vintage Tudor watches from the 1950s and 1960s and has taken design inspiration from several different references at the time, with design features on the 79220R, such as the big crown, snowflake hands, and matte dial. The Tudor Heritage Black Bay was released in 2014 and was part of the Tudor brand’s relaunch. The Black Bay 79220R was discontinued in 2016 in favor for the 79230R which features an in-house movement instead of an ETA movement, as well as a few visual differences, including a shield logo on the dial instead of the vintage Tudor rose.

Because the previous 79220R model is the “original” Black Bay watch, and is more true to Tudor’s heritage, these watches have become increasingly popular over time and has started to increase in value.
