Rolex Explorer 214270 Unworn 2019
Full-set Unworn Rolex Explorer reference 214270 with a certificate dated June 2019.
The Rolex Explorer 1 reference 214270 is a watch which mixes simple elegance with sportiness, durability, and ruggedness. Like most Rolex watches, the Explorer 1 has a great history behind it. The Explorer’s official story takes shape with Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay’s pioneering ascent to Mount Everest in 1953. To commemorate the watches that they wore during that expedition – the Rolex Oyster Perpetual – Rolex released the Oyster Perpetual Explorer that same year. In other words, the Explorer 1 is built on the Oyster perpetual model, and if you compare the two, the resemblance is obvious. Since then, Rolex has released several Explorer I models, and iterated and refined them each time, with references like the 1016, 14270, 114270, and most recently, this watch, the Rolex Explorer I 214270.
The name of the watch gives the characteristics of it away. The watch features a 3132 caliber, which is a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. It features a Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers, offering greater resistance to shocks and to extreme conditions. The Explorer is built to last in harsh conditions that an Explorer may face.
