Tudor Oyster Prince Date+Day Jubmo reference 7017/0 38mm. This watch is dated 1978 and comes on a leather strap with original Rolex buckle. The day wheel is in English. The watch shows signs of wear which is normal considering its age. It has been polished throughout its lifetime. Please refer to the images. The watch has a silver dial with applied tritium dots which shows signs of aging. The watch is equipped with a plexiglass crystal which has some scratches and hairlines.

The applied Tudor shield indicates this piece was created after 1969, when the rose logo was retired. The Tudor Date+Day model line was launched in 1952 and in 1953, Rolex improved its Oyster system by introducing its Twinlock winding crown, which, combined with the screw-down case back, guaranteed a Rolex’s waterproofness to 330 feet. When looking at the crown of this Tudor 7017 you will see that it has the Twinlock designation — an underline mark beneath the Rolex coronet, which shows Tudor’s clear historic and close connection to Rolex.

Unlike Rolex which only made the Day-Date in precious metals, except for one exception, the Tudor Date+Day is made in stainless steel and is very much similar to a Rolex Day-Date that was produced at that time as Rolex produced the case and parts for the Tudor watches.
