The Seiko 5 SNK063J5 is a sporty and unique timepiece both in terms of case and bracelet design but also in dial configuration. What stands out about this watch the most, however, is, as its name suggests, its Arabic dial. And there is a backstory to what makes this particular dial so appealing and interesting, which we will go into detail about further on.
Without further ado, in this article, we are reviewing the Seiko 5 Arabic Dial SNK063J5.
Seiko 5 Arabic Dial SNK063J5 case
The Seiko 5SNK063J5 is presented with a stainless steel case with a diameter of 34mm. The thickness measures 12mm and the band with 21mm. What you will notice, however, is that the watch has an integrated bracelet which gives it a distinct and sporty look.
For its price, the case is actually really nicely finished, with a satin-brushed finish on the top, contrasted by polished sides. In addition, the sides of the case also have polished bevels which enhance the impression of attention to detail. In contrast, the watch also has a fixed polished bezel.
With the above-mentioned dimensions, it is of course a small watch, that will be particularly good for people with medium to small wrists. It can also work great for women too!
Sitting on top of the watch, we have a Hardlex crystal, which is to be expected from a Seiko watch in this price range.
The watch offers a water resistance of 30m/ATM. This essentially just means that it is splash-proof, but should not be submerged underwater. Speaking of which, this watch has a push-pull crown positioned at 4 o’clock. This both gives it a distinct look but also has the benefit of not digging into your wrist.
Seiko SNK063J5 dial
The dial is of course what stands out about this watch. It has a black dial with a semi-polished finish. The dial has painted Indian numeral hour markers. And these markers have a more interesting story to them than what meets the eye.
The backstory to this is that Seiko was early to focus on the gulf market and has over the years released a number of different models using the Arabic language, and they have proved to be very popular. Because of this, Seiko released this timepiece, using Indian numerals, which is the current-day Arabic.
Moving on, we have an outer ring on the dial with painted silver dots and luminous dots for every five-minute marking. The watch has sword-shaped hands madden polished metal with Lumibrite applied to them for legibility. Positioned at 3 o’clock, you’ll find a day and date window with a metal frame around it. The day function is presented in both Arabic and English.
Seiko SNK063J5 movement
The watch is powered by the automatic Seiko caliber 7S26 automatic. It offers a power reserve of 40 hours and has 21 jewels. It beats with a frequency of 21600 BPH. This is a sturdy and reliable workhorse movement that has proven that it will continue to tick year after year with little to no maintenance required.
If you turn the watch around, you’ll find that this watch has a see-through case back which allows you to see the movement beating inside. It is not decorated, which is more or less expected at this price point, but watch enthusiasts will still appreciate the reminder of the complicated piece of mechanical craftsmanship beating inside.
Seiko SNK063J5 bracelet
The watch is fitted with an integrated stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp featuring a push-button release. The bracelet tapers for comfort which is a nice touch, and it consists of three links, on which the middle links feature two polished lines which work as a contrast to the otherwise satin-finished bracelet.
An issue with affordable watches is that the bracelet is often the part that is compromised with the most, and the same goes for this bracelet. It does not feel 100% sturdy and has some rattle to it, but it does the job. And still, it goes very well with the integrated design of the watch.

Overall, the Seiko 5 Arabic Dial SNK063J5 is just a casual yet sporty watch that works exceptionally well for all kinds of occasions.
For the price, it really offers exceptional value for money when you look at durability, build quality, and finish.
This watch is not a limited edition, however, it is limited in production, and this makes them rather tricky to get a hold of occasionally. Because of the number of pieces that an official Seiko retailer receives, and with the huge popularity of this timepiece, they have also started to increase in value.
All in all, this is a true Seiko 5 watch that has all the elements you would expect from a Seiko 5, but with an interesting twist that makes it so much more appealing to the market.
