Rolex Watches with Rubies – List of Ruby Rolex watches

Whilst Rolex is known for making tough and robust sports-and tool watches, they are also masters at gem-setting and the art of gemology. Rolex has its dedicated in-house team of gemologists and gem-setters that are responsible for some amazing creations of gem-set Rolex watches.

Rolex frequently uses gemstones for its watches, in particular diamonds. But the company also has some more unique and striking gem-set watches that use other types of gemstones. One of them are rubies. Rubies, with their bright red color add a string visual appearance to any watch. They stand out from the crowd and truly elevates the elegance and uniqueness of these timepieces.

Over the years, Rolex has made a number of different watches with rubies on them. Some only use a few on the dial, others have considerably more across the case and bezel. In the recent decades, Rolex has put more emphasis in making these ruby watches more special and unique. And they have done so by creating some incredible gem-set creations. To make them even more special, Rolex has made many of these watches so-called “off-catalog”. This means that they are not available in the standard product catalog or on Rolex’s website. Instead, they are mostly ordered on-request and presented to the best VIP clients by the retailer. This retains their exclusivity and rarity, which is exactly what a special ruby Rolex deserves.

The watches with Ruby bezels are denoted as “RU” at the end of their reference number, referring to “Ruby”. However, many of the Rolex watches have rubies on the dials and this is not something that is indicated on the reference number. Some models also have a combination of other gemstones and rubies. For example, the ending “SARU” on a reference number denotes that the bezel uses sapphires and rubies.

There’s just something special about rubies on a Rolex watch. Diamonds are used frequently by Rolex – just like most other watch brands. Rubies, on the other hand, are not widely used. As a result, they stand out from the ordinary and shine brightly with their red, beautiful color. It takes a watch from a regular watch or even a sports watch, to a stunning piece of jewelry that ism ade with utmost attention to detail.

Without further ado, let’s dig into the list of Rolex watches with rubies.
