Does Rolex Accept Bitcoin?

Are you wondering if you can buy Rolex watches with Bitcoin? In this article, we will discuss buying Rolex with Bitcoin and whether it is possible or not.

A lot of people ask “Does Rolex accept Bitcoin”, but this is actually an incorrectly asked question. Why? Because Rolex is not a direct-to-consumer company. It doesn’t own any of the retail stores (with one exception). When you buy a Rolex from an official Rolex retailer, you are therefore not buying it from Rolex. Rather, you’re buying it from an independently owned official Rolex retailer that sells Rolex watches under a retailer agreement with Rolex.

To answer this question, no, Rolex does not accept Bitcoin. But that’s because of the fact that you cannot buy from them.

But when it comes to buying a Rolex with Bitcoin from a Rolex authorized retailer, it’s a different story.

Does Rolex accept Bitcoin?

If we use the terms “Rolex” and “official Rolex retailer” interchangeably, it’s a different story. The most common method of payment is with credit cards but depending on the country, cash may be more or less frequently used. At the writing moment, there is no official Rolex retailer around the world that actively promotes that they accept Bitcoin as a means of payment.

However, with that said, that doesn’t mean you can not buy a Rolex with Bitcoin. It just means that you cannot buy a Rolex from official Rolex retailers with Bitcoin. At least not yet.

Can you buy Rolex with Bitcoin?

If we ask the question in this way, then the answer is yes absolutely. In general, secondhand watch dealers and non-official Rolex retailers tend to be more modern, more technological, and more innovative than Rolex retailers. In general, official Rolex retailers tend to be quite traditional and slow in evolving and adapting their brick-and-mortar store business model to new times. This isn’t of course true for everyone but is just a generalization.

With that said, if you want to buy a Rolex with bitcoin, you should look for a second-hand Rolex dealer, also known as a “grey market dealer”. There are many stores and dealers that accept Bitcoin and even other types of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. The number of dealers that accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is growing each year. Just do your research online and shop from a company that you want to buy from – online or in-store.

CRMJewelers, a watch dealer accepting cryptocurrency said the following:

“we continue seeing more and more demand from customers wanting to buy luxury watches and jewelry from us. Sometimes they pay with BTC, sometimes ETH, but regardless of their choice of crypto, the speed, efficiency, and low cost associated it with the transactions means that we’ll continue to accept cryptocurrency payments for many years to come.”

With the increased popularity of cryptocurrency and its more widespread use of it in society, it’s probably safe to say that more and more companies will accept it as a means of Payment. This includes everything from grocery stores to, of course, Rolex dealers as well. And whilst Rolex official retailers tend to be somewhat traditional, they may need to start accepting it to accommodate the demands of its customers. Only time will tell!
