What is the Smallest Rolex Size? Smallest Rolex Watches
Rolex watches are available in a large selection of sizes to suit all wrist sizes, tastes, and preferences. When we talk about size, we talk about the case diameter of a watch, which is the most common type of dimension that watch manufacturers use. Naturally, other factors also come into play in regards to how large or small a watch feels on the wrist, in particular its thickness and the type of bracelet it uses.
Over the years, Rolex has released several new sizes – and discontinued some. Rolex’s smallest sizes are reserved for women, but Rolex also has unisex sizes that are suitable for both men and women. At the same time, the rules for watch sizes have been blurred over the years and today, it is not uncommon to see women wear 40mm men’s watches.
But what are the smallest sizes that Rolex watches? Let’s take a look at the smallest sizes that Rolex has.
Smallest Rolex sizes – old and new
As mentioned, Rolex has introduced and discontinued various sizes over the years. Firstly, the smallest Rolex watches that Rolex has made are about 10mm in diameter but only include a handful of vintage Rolex lady models. Then there is a selection of sizes with incremental steps, 12, 13, 14, 15mm, and so on, but again, these are limited to specific and rather uncommon Rolex sizes.
The smallest “official” size that Rolex has made is 26mm. Today, this size has been replaced by 28mm. As such, the smallest Rolex size is technically 26mm. But you will have to look on the secondhand market and look for pre-owned watches if you want this size.
If we are talking about the watch sizes in Rolex’s current collection of timepieces, 28mm is the smallest size.
Rolex watch sizes
Let’s take a look at the different “standard” watch sizes that Rolex has.
26mm
This Rolex size is now discontinued and replaced by 28mm. When in production, Rolex used this size for a series of different models, of which the two most common are Lady Datejust 26 and Oyster Perpetual 26.
28mm
28mm is the smallest size that is in Rolex’s collection today. As for 26, the two main models that use 28mm are the Datejust 28 and the Oyster Perpetual 28.
31mm
Today, 31mm is considered the standard size for women’s watches today. It is not tiny like the smaller sizes but it is also not huge. It has a balance between versatility and femininity which is particularly appreciated by women. 31mm is one of the most popular sizes for ladies today.
Like most of Rolex’s ladies’ watches, the most common models are the Datejust 31 and the Oyster Perpetual 31.
34mm
Rolex has only made watches in 34mm for two models, Oyster Perpetual 34, and Rolex Date. Historically, 34mm was a popular size amongst men. But as the watch trend has moved towards larger watches, 34mm has become predominantly a women’s size, although some men also enjoy 34mm.
Rolex still has 34mm in its collection of watches today.
36mm
36mm is today considered a classic unisex size. 36mm is a historically iconic watch size that Rolex has used extensively for its watches. 36mm is still a cornerstone size for many Rolex models today, but also for older vintage watches.
36mm is considered a unisex size that is as popular for women as it is for men. It’s a size that you cannot go wrong with that works on any occasion and for any outfit.
