Tissot PRC 200 T17158652 Review
The Tissot PRC 200 T17158652 Chronograph is a sporty and high-quality chronograph appreciated for its clean and stylish design, but most importantly because it offers great value for money.
If you are looking for a high-quality, reliable swiss made chronograph made by a well-known and reputable watch brand for less than 350 dollars, the Tissot PRC 200 T17158652 may be one of the best choices out there.
Let’s look closer at this watch in detail.
Tissot PRC 200 T17158652 case
What first stands out about the case of this watch is its lug design. Instead of being smoothly integrated into the case, moving from wide to thinner, the lugs of this watch point out directly from the case and are almost completely straight. This puts more focus on the dial but also gives the watch a distinct look. This is further emphasized by the thin bezel ring around the dial which is polished.
Most of the case is polished including the lugs and the sides which makes this sporty chronograph rather dressed-up anyways. This creates the perfect combination of sporty elegance and a sporty timepiece that will look just as great with a biker’s jacket as a dinner suit. And if you want to make it even more formal, just throw on a new set of shoes in the form of a leather strap (but more on that later).
The case has a diameter of 40mm which is a rather general size for a men’s watch, meaning it will cater to a large audience of people, both those with smaller but also a bit larger wrists.
Thanks to its quartz movement, the watch is relatively thin, with a thickness of 12 mm. The watch offers a water resistance of 200m/660 feet which is rather impressive for a chronograph. This means this watch is suitable for swimming and can handle water (but not diving). The weight is 5.1 ounces.
Positioned at the usual 3 o’clock, we have a crown, between 2 and 4 o’clock.
Fitted on top of the case is a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal which is important for a sporty watch like this.
Dial
At the very edge of the dial, we have a thin chapter ring on which the tachymeter scale for the chronograph measuring is printed. This is different from many other chronographs where the tachymeter scale is positioned on the bezel.
The thin bezel allows for a rather large dial. This contributes to making the watch appear slightly larger than it actually is, but at the same time, it also allows for great legibility.
The watch has a black dial with a lot going on. But this doesn’t stop the watch from being very legible. The watch has a large minute and hour hands made of polished metal and with lumina applied to them. The chronograph hand is made in a bright yellow color as a nice and sporty contrast that matches the hands of two of the chronograph hands which are also made in yellow. The yellow chronograph hand is shaped like a ”T” for ”Tissot”.
At 4 o’clock, we have a date window which is nicely integrated. The dial also has Arabic numerals for the 3, 9, and 12. The chronograph counters are easy to read and feature white printing. The chronograph counters measure 1/10 of a second, 60 seconds, and 30 minutes. These are positioned at two, six, and ten o’clock.
The watch has applied rectangular markers applied for each five-minute marking. In turn, these have luminova on them.
Movement
The watch is powered by a quartz chronograph movement. This is something that would scare away the most devoted watch nerds who only opt for mechanical movements, but a quartz movement has several benefits.
Firstly, the watch is powered by the ETA G10.211 quartz caliber. ETA makes high-quality, reliable Swiss movements and this is one sturdy movement that will last for a long time.
Secondly, quartz movements offer much better accuracy than mechanical movements. This movement operates with a frequency: 32’768 Hz and has 4 jewels.
It also has a battery life of 38 months without chronograph use. This is one of the primary benefits of quartz movements as they are much more affordable to maintain and don’t require servicing the same way mechanical movements do.
Strap
The T17158652 is presented on a stainless steel bracelet with brushed center links and polished middle-and side links. This watch is available with a number of other strap options but are then presented under different reference numbers.
The black leather strap version has the referenceT17152652, the brown leather strap version has the reference T17151632. This watch is also available with a number of other dial colors.

Conclusion
In conclusion, the Tissot PRC 200 T17158652 is a great sporty yet elegant timepiece built to high quality, made in Switzerland, and by a reputable and well-respected manufacturer. This watch really offers great value for money and is built to handle harsh conditions. It’s not a watch you need to baby.
With a price tag of lower than 350 USD, there are not many watches that can compete with its class, and it definitely feels like a watch that could be priced higher.
nice tissot watch. less than 350 USD. cool
Any watch with a 20 bar (200 meter or 660 feet) water resistance is suitable for diving. The average dive with scuba gear is no greater than 60 feet. This watch will easily handle those depths. Simply do not actuate the chronograph pushers under water and you are good to go.
Good point! 200m+ is well suited for diving as long as you avoid the chronograph pushers!
Kind regards,
