The watch is presented with a case with a diameter of 40.5mm and a thickness of 11.8mm. The case has a yellow-gold PVD treatment which gives it a gold look. Is there anything classier than a gold dress watch? It’s ultimately a matter of taste, but there’s no denying that the yellow gold certainly makes it appear more exclusive and elegant. With a weight of about 70 grams, it is also rather light, which is a nice thing for this type of timepiece as you don’t want to be too clumsy on the wrist.

The actual case design is simple and clean. It has a thin polished bezel which allows for a large dial. This is a good decision by Seiko as it allows all of the focus to be placed on the dial. The lugs have a rectangular shape with a polished finish.

The dial is the part of the watch that stands out the most. And what especially makes the dial stand out is its unique deep groove patterns which are made in a sunburst fashion. This adds depth to the dial but also works as a sunburst finish which reflects the light beautifully and makes it extremely vibrant.

Another nice detail to the dial is its applied polished markers with bevels and aggressive angles. According to Seiko, the hour markers are inspired by the shape of a cocktail glass. The hands of the watch have a similar design as the hour markers. The hands are polished and have beveled edges, allowing them to reflect the light just like the markers.

Positioned at 3 o’clock, we find a date window elegantly integrated into the dial. The date window has a white background which allows it to blend in well, but also has a metal frame around it.

The Seiko logo at 12 o’clock is made of metal and applied to the dial, instead of printed.

The watch is powered by the in-house Seiko caliber 4R35 which beats with a frequency of 21600 BPH. The movement has 23 jewels and offers a power reserve of approximately 41 hours.

The movement has both hacking seconds and manual winding functions. These are two functions that Seiko’s most affordable movements do not have.

As mentioned, the watch has a see-through case back. What you will notice is that this movement is equipped with a gold rotor. This matches the gold case very well and improves the impression of exclusivity.
