News! Rolex Presents the New Submariner 126610LV “Shrek”
Big news! Rolex has officially discontinued the iconic Submariner 116610LV and replaced it with the brand new 126610LV! The biggest upgrade includes the dial, movement, size, and movement… It replaced the “Hulk”, but could this become the new “Shrek”?
Overall, the new Rolex 126610LV is relatively similar to the predecessor, but there are a few core differences. Remember, Rolex is all about evolution, not revolution.
The biggest visual difference includes the changing from a green dial and bezel to only a green bezel. This makes it a bit more toned down and discreet, whilst still retaining the iconic green color.
Furthermore, Rolex has made the case 41mm compared to the previous 40mm. In addition, the watch has been equipped with the latest generation caliber 3235. Whilst the case has been increased in size, the lugs have been made slimmer and more elegant, which means it likely won’t wear as big on the wrist.
“It features a unidirectional rotatable bezel with Cerachrom insert and solid-link Oyster bracelet. The latest generation Submariner and Submariner Date remain faithful to the original model launched in 1953. In watchmaking, the Submariner represented a historic turning point; it set the standard for divers’ watches.”
The key upgrades refer to the dial, diameter, lugs, and movement. Apart from that, the 126610LV “Shrek” will feel very familiar to the much-loved, iconic, and appreciated “Hulk” 116610LV.
