NEWS! Tudor Releases Black Bay Pro Watches & Wonders 2022
Finally, the time of the year has come for Tudor to release its new models for the year. On the 30th of March 2022, Tudor presented its new collection of watches at Watches & Wonders. One of the most important releases from Tudor for 2022 is undoubtedly the new Black Bay Pro!
Tudor is almost as secretive as Rolex when it comes to its new models. Unlike with other brands, it’s difficult to know which watches Tudor will release ahead of the official date unless we’re blessed with an accidental release.
But whilst it’s difficult to know much about the new releases in advance, something that is safe to say is that Tudor will release new variants of its most important model – the Black Bay.
This has of course also proven to be the case for this year’s releases. And one of them is the new Black Bay Pro.
Let’s have a closer look at this model and what it is all about.
Presenting the new Black Bay Pro 79470
The name sounds just as cool as this watch is. Tudor call’s it the adventurers’ Black bay and this watch has clear inspiration from Rolex’s iconic Explorer 1655.
“TUDOR presents a new technical model with a whole new aesthetic. Named Black Bay Pro, it has a 39-millimetre diameter, a fixed steel bezel and a ManufactureCalibre with built-in GMT function.”
This watch introduces a ton of new upgrades to the Black Bay model. Although it is technically part of the Black Bay family, it has multiple new upgrades and changes that have been developed specifically for the Black Bay Pro 79470.
The watch has a 39mm stainless steel case and the crown has been updated to allow for maximum grip, similar to those used in Tudor’s vintage Submariners. Furthermore, Tudor has made the applied hour markers from monobloc luminous ceramic. The benefit of this is that it enhances the technical aesthetic of Black Bay Pro as well as considerably increases the luminous surface of the hour markers.
The watch is presented with a TUDOR “T-fit” rapid size-adjustment system, allowing the wearer to effortlessly adjust the bracelet’s size without the use of any tools. The bracelet can provide an instant adjustment of up to 8mm on the clasp.
Most importantly, the Black Bay Pro 79470 incorporates a GMT function and has a fixed 24-hour bezel. For a touch of color, it has a yellow “Snowflake” GMT hand.
