Orient Bambino Version 2 Review & Complete Guide
There are tons and tons of dress watches on the market to choose from. They also come in all kinds of shapes and forms. But what all Dres watches have in common, however, is that they are elegant, classy, clean, slim, and refined.
The dress watch category includes expensive luxury watches such as Patek Philippe, but also affordable timepieces at just a few hundred dollars. One of those is the Orient Bambino Version 2. This is a dress watch that is available at less than 200 USD, but at the same time, it receives a lot of praise and appreciation for offering exceptional value for money.
Affordable does not have to mean cheap and this is something that the Orient Bambino V2 proves. This is also the watch we are going to look closer at in this article.

Orient Bambino Version 2
As its name suggests, this is version 2 of the Bambino. Orient is a brand that tends to make upgrades to its current watches over time (like many other brands), but Orient also names them after the versions they represent – in this case, generation 2.
Since, Orient has also released a version 3 and 4, and we can expect more to follow in the future. Worth knowing is that version 3 uses the same movement as this version, so if you are also curious about the 3, the technical specifications remain the same.
As has already been revealed, and which is also noticed at first glance, it is a classy and elegant dress watch that is perfect for formal occasions. Also, it is worth having in mind that Orient offers several different iterations of the Bambino Version 2, where the main differences are the dial colors and case color. This means that if you like the overall concept and look of this watch, you should be able to find one that suits your preference.
Without further ado, in this article, we are reviewing the Orient Bambino version 2. This includes the references:
- FAC00009N0 – beige/cream dial with stainless steel case
- FAC00008W0 – white dial with stainless steel case and copper-colored hands and indices
- AC0000AB – black dial with stainless steel case
- FAC00007W0 – white dial with yellow gold case
- AC00009W – white dial with steel indices and blued hands
Orient Bambino Version 2 case
The Orient Bambino generation 2 is presented with a simple and elegant stainless steel case with a diameter of 40.5mm. The case has a thickness of 11.8mm. The thickness of the watch is increased due to the use of a domed hardened mineral crystal. The actual case thickness, minus the crystal, is in fact quite a bit thinner.

Having said this, the Bambino generation 2 is a slim watch that will slide under a cuff without any issues. This is a must for any dress watch. Its diameter makes it more or less mid-size, meaning it is suitable for a wide span of wrist sizes. It’s not too big to look awkward on the wrist, but at the same time, it is not as small as certain other dress watches. In our opinion, it is a great size which also makes it great for everyday wear.
What we mean by the fact that it is a simple case design is that the majority of the real estate consists of the dial. The bezel is thin and polished. The lugs have a rectangular shape, are slim, and have a polished finish. The good news is that the case feels solid and qualitative.
The crown is positioned at the classic 3 o’clock position and, in a way, reminds of the crown of a pocket watch.
The watch offers a water resistance of 30m. This, in practice, means that it is splash-proof. Not really great, for a dress watch, you don’t really need more than that anyway.

Orient Bambino Version 2 dial
As mentioned, the color of the dial depends on which version you choose. But regardless of which you choose, the dial is certainly the center of attention and takes up most of the space on this watch.
What they all have in common, however, is that they are clean, refined, and elegant. They also have small applied metal Roman numerals. Furthermore, the hands have a sword shape with pointy tips. The hands are beveled and reflect the light beautifully. The hands are sleek and go really well with the dress watch theme of this watch. Worth noting is that this watch does not have any luminescent material. This can make the legibility somewhat poor in low-lit conditions, but it’s generally not an issue for these types of watches.
Around the edge of the dial, it has 60-seconds markers printed in a traditional and classic style. For practicality, the watch has a date window positioned at 3 o’clock. This makes it much more suitable for everyday wear as it can always come in handy to keep track of the date.

Orient Bambino Version 2 movement
The Orient Bambino version 2 is powered by the in-house Orient caliber F6722. This is an automatic movement that has both a manual winding function and hacking seconds. Both of these are functions that are often not found in affordable automatic movements, so this is a really great value proposition from Orient.
The movement has proven to be robust, sturdy, and reliable, so it is a great movement to have in this watch that you can rely on. Of course, the accuracy is not COSC standard, but it is what you can expect at this price range.

Strap
The watch is presented on either a black or dark brown embossed leather strap. This is to be expected from an elegant dress watch and makes it much more suitable for formal occasions.
The strap has received some complaints, however, being a bit too stiff.
The watch has a lug width of 21mm which can make it a bit more difficult to find replacement straps, but the strap on which the watch is presented is not too bad.

Conclusion
The Orient Bambino is an elegant and classy dress watch that is perfect for formal occasions. However, being a dress watch, it may not be ideal for everyday wear unless you wear formal clothing often, or simply enjoy dress watches.
If we factor in price, the Orient Bambino is one of the best dress watches on the market considering its build quality and finish. You really cannot go wrong with this piece.
The watch is timeless in design and powered by a durable automatic movement.
If you are looking for a classy and affordable dress watch, the Orient Bambino version 2 is definitely a watch to consider. In addition, you also have several models to choose from, so you should be able to find one that suits your taste and preference.
