Rolex Caliber 1570 Complete Guide
Over the years, Rolex has developed and used a number of different calibers. One such is the Rolex caliber 1570. In this article, we will present specifications and other information you may want to know about this movement.
Rolex caliber 1570
The caliber 1570 beats at 19.8KBPH, which is much slower than the 28.8KBPH of the 3135. Technically, the 1570 is very similar to the iconic and well-known 3135. They both feature a free-sprung balance, and hairspring overcoil, however, the 3135 feature some upgrades – one of which is the beat frequency.
The 1570 has a wolf’s teeth clutch wheel. The Rolex caliber 1570 was introduced in 1965 and used until around 1974. The 1570 has been made in a number of different variants for example 1575 with a date; 1575 GMT with a date and GMT hand; 1580 which is anti-magnetic and used in the Milgauss and so on. The movement has been used for the Rolex Date 1500, Datejust, Explorer, Submariner.
Many 1570 movements do feature the date function. This movement was used in a lot of Rolex Date watches.
The caliber 1570 is a certified chronometer (COSC) movement.
The 1570 is an automatic self-winding caliber with 26 jewels. It has a power reserve of 48 hours. It is equipped with Kif Ultraflex shock system and a free-sprung Breguet hairspring.

Thank you. I will do so.
I’m looking for a technical manual for only a 1570 movement. I have a 70’s SS/Engine Turn/1570/Jubilee – missing parts, family owned. I am looking to disassemble the movement (1 year experience). I can not find any technical manual on disassembly anywhere.

bonjour j’ai ce mouvement sur ma 1500. il n’y a pas de changement de date rapide dessus, il faut le faire manuellement?
Hello,
Yes, you have to change the time two full rotations (2x 12 hours) to change the date for each date. It can take some time if you need to change to, for example the 25th and it indicates the 1st at the moment.
Kind regards,
