What does 750 mean on a Rolex?
What does 750 mean on a Rolex? What does 18K mean?
On some Rolex watches, you can see 750 stamped on the watch. Close to this engraving/stamping, you will also be able to seek ”18K”. But what does this mean?
What all of the watches that have these markings have in common is the fact that they are made in 18K gold. The 750 stamped on the watch refers to the purity of the gold used.
Rolex uses only 18K gold, and more specifically, an alloy that is composed of 750 thousands of pure gold, (750‰). The rest of the gold alloy consists of different parts of silver and copper, and Zinc depending on the type of 18K gold that Rolex uses, which is yellow, white, and Everose gold. To make this happen, Rolex has its own foundry which allows them to get full control over the process.
So to answer the question, 750 means 750/1000, which equals 75% of pure gold. This translates to 18K. The reason why most jewelry makers don’t use 100% gold is that it is soft, which isn’t ideal for watches that are meant to be robust. Furthermore, Rolex has experimented with the alloys over the years in order to prevent oxidization of the gold, but also give it a bright sheen, and long-lasting luster.

Hello
I have second hand
Datejust
Perpetual
Rolex
So is it true real Gold?! I’m confusing..
I’m not sure what you’re asking, but 750 means that the watch is in the “750 series.” It’s a higher-end series of Rolex watches.
Hi,
Rolex does not have a “750” series of watches.
750 relates to the content of the precious metal. It means 75% precious metal and 25% non-precious metals. In most cases, it relates to 18K gold but is also used for platinum.
