Rolex Country Codes: a Complete Guide & List [Rolex LC]
Did you know that on the certificate/warranty card of your Rolex watch, there is a three-digit number? Did you know that Rolex uses country codes to refer to a specific country?
Rolex country codes consist of three digits and refer to the country to which the watch was originally sent from the factory. In other words, the country that the authorized Rolex retailer was sent to is in. There are a few reasons why Rolex uses this system, but when it comes to pre-owned watches, this number system can come in particularly handy as it allows you to know from which country the watch was originally purchased.
In this article, we will list all the Rolex country codes and the respective country, so you can easily identify from which country your watch was originally sold.
Rolex country codes
Now, let’s first sort out the fact that no matter which country code your watch has, it originally comes from Rolex’s factory in Switzerland. Make no mistake here. The country code simply tells you which country the authorized retailer the watch was originally sent to is in.
Where can you find the country code for your watch?
The country code of your watch can only be found on its warranty paper/warranty card. If you don’t have the accompanying warranty card or paper, you will not be able to tell the country code of your watch in any way.
However, if you do have your warranty paper or card, identifying your Rolex country code is very easy.
Older Rolex watches (up until 2006) have a guarantee/warranty in the form of a paper, as seen in the image below. If you have an older Rolex watch with guarantee paper, you can find the country code in the top left corner:
The country code is punched into the paper.
If you have a Rolex watch from 2006 and onwards, your watch will have been accompanied by the new warranty which comes in the form of a credit-card style plastic card as seen in the image below:
The country code on the newest warranty cards can be found on the backside of the card in the top right corner:
There are two types of plastic warranty cards from Rolex, but, generally speaking, if your Rolex watch comes with a red tag, it will come with the first-generation plastic card which was originally released before Rolex introduced its five-year warranty.
On these cards, you can find out the Rolex Country Code in the field “N° client” like the following picture:
Do note that there are some ”special” country codes with a star, and this refers to the Rolex headquarters itself. This is only used for direct purchases by private customers, and naturally, very rare. Furthermore, there are also other special country codes that have been used throughout history which you can find in the list below.
How important are the Rolex country codes?
In practice, the Rolex country code of your watch is not important at all. Any watch, no matter from which country it was originally sold, will come with the respective warranty, as long as the card has been properly filled out by the authorized retailer, which all warranties should have. However, some people think the Rolex land code (country code) is very important, and thus only want to buy watches that have a specific land code, for example, their own country, even when buying pre-owned.

New Rolex warranty cards do not have country codes
In 2020, Rolex updated the design of its plastic warranty cards. The card underwent several changes in the information it provided as well as its looks. But one change, in particular, was that Rolex removed the country code. As a result, it is no longer possible to know the country code of a modern Rolex watch in the same way as it is with older Rolex watches.
Since Rolex removed the country code from the warranty cards, we can assume that Rolex didn’t think it was important. Because the fact of the matter, it wasn’t. The country code played no practical purpose.
hi i bought a rolex lv f in greece 2005 and the country code is 209 i cannot find which country it means if yoy know please inform me thank you
Hi Peter,
There is a chance that Rolex has changed some country codes over time. But if you bought it in Greece from an authorized Rolex retailer, then it will, of course, have the country code from Greece.
Hi
Recently bought a Rolex 114060 (no date Sub) in mono boutique in Shangri-La Mall, Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) On the card the Rolex Country Code in the field “N° client is shown as 338
I do not see this in your list here or in Rolex official page , please advise .
Many thanks in advance !
Hi,
There is a possibility that Mongolia has used 338 as its country code. Mongolia is just not a country that is specified in this article because it makes up such a small part of the total Rolex watch sales in the world.
Kind regards,

Hi,
I see there are multiple codes for The Netherlands, what makes the difference in the code?
Thanks!
Hi,
Nothing, really. Just different codes during different periods.
Kind regards,

Hi the country code on my certificate appears to have 4 zero’s stamped in with what appears to be 11 over the middle 2 zeros. Is this a misprint? the dealer stamp says bucherer geneva. not sure if this should be 110 France or 011 Switzerland maybe? However your list shows 010 the 012 for Switzerland.
Hi,
Bucherer Geneva should be Switzerland. It sounds like the country code of your certificate is correct.
Kind regards,

Hello,
I bought a rolex from Ramsdens, it is a very well known jewellers and been going 50 years, my rolex papers have a country code of 211 on them, I am really worried about this and cannot find this country code anywhere. I am out of options where to look for advice now, is there any chance you could help ?? Thanks,
Hi,
Rolex used a vast number of country codes throughout the years and some country codes were used for specific purposes like military bases. This alone is therefore nothing to worry about. But perhaps Ramsdens has more information about the provenance of the watch and may be able to provide more details about it.
Kind regards,
