Tudor Reference Numbers: An Extensive Guide

Tudor is a watch company with a long and rich history, yet one that is many many times underestimated. Tudor was founded by Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex. Originally, Tudor watches were, to a large extent made using the same parts as Rolex, only fitted with different off-the-shelf movements, and this has also contributed to making Tudor’s vintage watches highly sought-after collection pieces which have skyrocketed in value over the years.

On the web, we saw a huge lack of resources of Tudor reference numbers, and this is why we decided to take it upon ourselves to create our own extensive resource of Tudor reference numbers.

This list of Tudor reference numbers won’t focus on each and every single model made by Tudor, but instead, it will focus on some of the most iconic and important models of Tudor, such as their collection of vintage (and new) chronographs, their modern Black Bay collection, their modern Pelagos collection, and maybe most importantly, their vintage Submariners.

  1. Hi, I have a Tudor Date Day from 1984, and I´m looking for the original Jubilee Bracelet. Do you have any information if I still can get it from Tudor itself? If not is there a reliable source for real bracelets?

  5. I have a 1966 Tudor Oyster Prince Submariner Model # 7928. I need a Jubilee band since the band
that came on the watch was broken. What size is the band? Would it be a 19mm or 20mm? Do you
have a vintage jubilee band that would fit?

    thanks,

    1. Hello Kenneth,
      THe lug width is 20mm.

Unfortunately we do not have this bracelet available. Note that this watch should originally be on an Oyster bracelet. It also looks great on a NATO strap.

      Kind regards,

  6. Hi, i have a Tuder Prince Oysterdate which has two sets of numbers on the case between the lugs.

    These are 37903 & 74000.

Would you be able to tell me a little bit more about them please?

    Thanks
    Andy

  7. What’s the difference please between the references 79230 N R and B (I’ve seen both N and B) for sale but not sure what the difference is? Are they listed chronologically in your list – in which case which is oldest and which newest please? is there any difference in functionallity?

    1. Hello Simon,
The R, N, and B refers to the color of the bezel (blue, red, black).

Apart from this, the watches are identical. (Apart from the blue version which has silver colored hands and printing on the dial, unlike the red and black which have gold-colored indices and dial printing).

      Kind regards,

  9. I purchased a Tudor 9411 stainless case. It dates as a 1981. The serial number is between the lugs. Where the reference number is supposed to be it just has stainless and can’t see the reference number. The reference is clearly marked inside the back of the watch. Is this common?

    1. Hi,
It is a common cause that the serial number, and reference number, on older watches, such as your Tudor 9411, have been worn out.
This happens naturally, and is caused by friction against the case, such as the end-link from the bracelet.

      Kind regards,
      Millenary Watches

  10. Hello I have a Tudor royal with a model number of 7934/0. It has Arabic numbers on it and I cannot find one .
My father who has gifted it to me in his will had it valued in 1991 at 450.00.
I wanted to know the appx year of value and whether this model has a Rolex movement or not, or is this only something that can be determined on appraisal. The case is a Rolex

    1. Hi,
The value for a Tudor 7934 will vary around €900 and €1500 depending on the condition.

      Kind regards,
      Millenary Watches
